I just noticed on the Audi S3 Sportback build page it says this. Similar message to when they got rid of the 3 door option but why on the 5 door option? Is a new S3 coming?

Could be to do with the new emission regulations? Just a guess though.

Yep,it's all down to the new emission regs.Playing havoc with lead time's. Ordered my S3 end of May,being built approx December!

May see a few used examples being snapped up due to the wait.

Ordered mine last week, wait time will be up to March

March?! Fooking hell. I'll have to look at at having a rethink about my order. Not sure where I stand after putting down a 1k deposit though.

Not sure if you can cancel your order? If you can, just look around for a pre-owned one to the spec you want and if nothing turns up just wait it out.

It is frustrating but I'm prepared to wait, want to make sure I get the spec that I want so it'll be worth the wait come March.

Dealer says build week 49,so March 19 seems about right.9 months wait for an S3,not happy.
If it’s built week 49 you should get it before March, but you may want to wait for the new reg.

When I bought my car in 2014, I placed the order in March and delivery was October. That was because they had only just released the saloon and were overwhelmed with orders.

Nice one mate.I'm not a patient person,I'm going to ring the dealer this week to see where I stand on my 1k deposit.

Did they give you the build week, or an idea of how long it would be, when you ordered?
If not I would think you are justified in asking for you deposit back.
But anyway, I would think they would be kind because this early they can change the slot, or get an S3 to sell at the end of the year when they are rare and in demand.
And particularly if you subsequently buy another car from them.

I ordered through "drive the deal" who dealt with York Audi.
They said delivery for October, sadly silly bolloxs here believed them!

Exactly the same boat - can’t really fault York Audi though they have been great... it’s audi that’s the issue. Can’t find a car in the spec I want in the network either. Half of me thinks I shouldn’t give Audi my cash, other half of me says wait as it’s what I want and I can’t get rid of current car until nov.

While the new S3 is a while off yet the spy shots are being circulated and I would think by back end of the year / early '19 a lot more detail on the new car including release date will be available.

I think in your position I get agreement on the last date you can cancel your order just in case the new S3 comes faster than expected and you can wait a bit longer.

Ordered my S3 in early June. Was told delivery September.

Not a chance! Two months on and Dealer hasn't even given me an order number yet (so no order)

I went through all of this crap with my current Audi years ago, so was fully prepared for Audi's over promising and under delivering.

As I said on another thread, I walked into this with my eyes wide open. Car will arrive when it arrives.

I think the WLTP ******** has had a massive impact on lead times.

Hi,

New to the forum. I ordered an A3 Saloon black edition 6 weeks ago and still haven't heard anything about a build week. Emailed Audi customer service and they didn't help much.

Spoke to the dealer and he told me that Audi have communicated internally that A3 saloons will go back into production on build week 38.
