.....dealer mentioned this a few months back...did some googling and finding some German sites talking about 2018/2019 model. Anyone have anything on this? Love my current 190 tdi SE S-Tronic so much I'm
thinking I might work towards another!

I think this was discussed already and the general consensus was as the first B9's were launched late 2015 then a facelift would be likely in late 2018/early 2019.

I read something about a facelift a month or so ago but I can’t remember where. I do remember, however, that— according to the article - Audi were disappointed by the sales figures and felt the need to pep up the looks. The article also featured some imagined pics of how it might look with even sleeker headlights for example.

B8 was launched 2007, B8.5 2013, B9 2016 so is late 2018 / early 2019 not a bit early?

Bear in mind S4's only landed very late 2016 and the RS4 first orders expected early 2019.

The arrival of an RS model normally indicates facelift or model replacement time, its the Audi way...

The 8 year cycle with a facelift after 4 years has been pretty consistent for Audi, with launches normally at Frankfurt motor show in September and then a dalay for RHD and/or Avants.

B8 was Sep 2007, B8.5 Oct 2011, B9 Sep 2015

So I'd expect a facelift in Sep 2019.

My suggestion would be June 2019 for the FL B9.

Do we think the S4 is getting an imminent facelift, as got mine coming in September ....

Personally yes. Previous form suggests mild styling tweeks to bumpers/ lights/wheel designs and trim levels. Interweb rumours abound about interior overhaul but personally I think that'll be saved for the next model.

No chance. Audi have just dealt with the new A6 & A7, and I’ve been told the new A1 & Q3 will be next before anything else. Everything is pointing towards a 2019 A4 FL.

Facelift b9 will be 2019... i doubt 2018 tbh. Might start seeing more and more concepts but 2019 from what i have read is the year it gets released

Oh crap - wonder if worth trying to find timing and see if order can be delayed somewhat? Or am I just going overboard ...

Might be worth discussing your options with the dealer mate... its still quite a while away but seeing how fast time goes... its neither too far either

Be careful. The new car may not be as good as the outgoing model. This was the case when Porsche switched from 6 cylinders to 4 cylinders, the older car was actually better :)

Yup, overboard as you will not be able to order until the car is officially released, say March 2019 at the earliest. Plus you'll be the guinea pig for any new technology.

Were talking about a facelift here, not a new model change, so changes are likely to be cosmetic only.

I think there maybe more to it than just cosmetics with the interior according to what I have heard...

You think they might go with the touchscreens on the facelift? Would've thought that would be saved for the new model.

Thanks for that! It's not enough of a change to worry me now that I've seen it. Same headlights but with bigger side grille openings that I think look naff now, with the ACC units in like my car has (but that I like on my car). I wonder if the S4 will get the sportier S-Line Competition bodywork and Avant spoiler though, I'll wait and see what that looks like, but I don't think that it's as much of a change as the B8-B8.5 thankfully, so values shouldn't plummet for us that want to keep our B9's a bit longer!

It certainly doesn't seem to be an enough of a change for me to want to one. I do wonder if some will wish to swop put body parts, exhausts etc. to look like a fl though. Perhaps no more pitted exhaust tips debate as well ;-)

Hope the Black Edition will still be available, seeing as the S Line Competition isn't coming to the UK....

That 100% rules out a new a4 for me. Car looks untouched unless you have owned it.. lol

Pointless update. Fake exhausts when the twin/one each side proper exhaust looked much better. They've added whats the A6 has. Inside has not changed and they have introduced the grey/silver front splitter that was always found on the b8 S-Sline.
With these fake exhausts, will all models have them, one each side? At the moment its easy to spot different engine cars with one single, twing or a one each side config.

I'm hoping the new (b10?) proper a4 has new A6 interior in the future. That being said, I'm still very keen to get a v90. I have 15 months to go before I have to decide.

I do like the sound of the Competition Pack upgrade but a 1.4 with a RS4 rear spoiler and carbon interiors and red brakes is a bit over the top. Ive just looked at the RS4 spolier and I cant seet any difference between that on the one I have on mine anyway

Cuke2U is spot on. It appears the new exhaust trims fit onto the rear silencer. Item 24.
Again this is for the 1.4 engine but I’d imagine if they did change for the 1.5 as expected that the exhaust system would still be the same.

Fake as in there will still be two tiny cylindrical exhausts behind them but they choose to exit via a massive (what looks bigger than a current RS model) pieces of plastic. Ill guarantee that A4s with one exhaust exit on the left will have the same shape exhaust on the right but covered with some plastic.

They'll look like one of these

https://www.carthrottle.com/post/7-fake-exhaust-pipes-that-make-expensive-cars-look-cheap/

But you cant blame them, they're all doing it

Whatever, they are still not fake exhaust outlet trims like other models have. If you don't like them fair enough but don't call them fake as they let the exhaust gases out...

I think they look better than a single pipe, keeps the back symmetrical.
The RS4 spoiler is different in that it hhas an air channel down the centre and the sides of it are painted black.

I've been sent a pdf by my Audi dealer regarding the changes, but can't see a way to upload it, so highlight as below:
  • 19" alloys standard on S Line
  • Folding mirrors standard across range
  • High beam assist standard on S Line and above
  • 2.0 TFSI with 150PS to replace 1.4 TFSI 150PS
  • Turbo Blue colour available
  • Front/Rear bumper and exhaust changes

Interesting engine choice, if it's the same engine as the 190ps it'll have potential...

You could always take a screenshot and upload the pictures that way.

Will be very interesting if it is the same 2.0 engine at the 190ps but in a detuned state.

I use to get an average of 42.5mpg out my 2.0 190ps Manual A4. I can’t imagine it still being as good on fuel as the 1.4 150ps with it having bigger displacement.

The question is will the price protection still apply for orders of 1.4 engines not accepted by the factory as the 19” Alloys as standard will be an extra cost Audi would have to swallow along with other few bits they’re throwing in.

Would quite fancy a set of those RS6 Plus style alloys but apart from that, nothing else has me thinking I should have waited for this FL.
