Any idea how they work? Just sticking on full beam seems to be blinding people!

Push Stalk forward and you will see Auto under the light symbol, mine work perfectly.

You will see it flick from Blue (when the full beam is on) and just plain white.

I had Matrix lights on a previous B9 Avant. Over 18 months I found them to be an absolute pain in the **** as they blind people and did not react properly as it seems in TX case. I deliberately chose not to have them but did order the fancy interior LED's )£100, which I love!

Mine work an absolute treat.. I've had one or two people flash me... but this was coming over hills and they would still be just as bad with the normal beam.

Ah ok. I have seen the "auto" symbol come up as I was madly flicking the main beam on and off! Will give it a go tonight. Out of interest do you just keep yours on all the time? Do they adjust from really dark countryside to town or m/way driving ok?

I wonder if anyone saw you coming in the distance... very confused to why your car was making disco lights :D

I usually have mine on all the time if its dark, the system works really well to recognize street lamps or motor way lamps and will turn the full beam off it it's not necessary. I have also used it on the motorway which had no street lamps and it worked perfectly to work around the cars I was behind and the oncoming traffic. You will get the odd hill or tight bend where it may take a few more micro seconds to register and turn off the section where a car is coming in the opposite or driving in the same direction , but it always gets there. Amazing to see when slightly foggy as you can really see it working.

In theory it is a clever system but there were so many times with oncoming traffic when they should have dipped and didn’t I couldn’t be bothered on the RS

Just about to test it. Will report back!

That's good! The auto headlights work fine on my RS4 but on the MY17 B9 estate with Vision pack and matrix lights they did not work well. A lot of my night driving is on country lanes and whilst the matrix worked OK in town was pretty rubbish in my normal night driving. Just did not dip quickly enough if at all!!

Have Matrix LED on A6 which I am about to swap for Q5, and have to agree they work brilliantly but less so on country/bumpy roads
