After lot of thinking I finally ordered a new A3 FL Sport in Florett silver. After seeing the car in person in Mythos black and Florett silver I'm thinking I maybe made a mistake. I should of gone with black. Especially I already had Florett preFL. Somehow I crossed black at the start because of hard maintenance (I had 2007 A3 in Phantom black for 4 years) but after seeing it in person I changed my mind (unfortunately too late).
The problem is ... the order for the car has been sent little less than two weeks and now it was given a built week.
Audi dealer says that order is now locked and I can't change the color no more. I wasn't persistent in changing the color after he said that but I wonder if the change is still possible.
What is your experience with that kind of problem? Is there anyone who was successful in changing the color after given built week?

I ordered A3 sport with roof rack, privacy windows, chrome around windows, LED lights front and back... and took different alloys (exterior of the car).

Here is example of the car in the mythos and florett... What do you think?

I much prefer the Floret Silver, especially as black is an absolute nightmare to keep clean!

Think I prefer the floret too. It's a colour I've not really seen before but very nice.

Looks best I think on saloon but nice on Sportback too!

Thank you all for your opinion, it means a lot.

Florett is a beautiful color in some light conditions but in other looks quite washed out. I think privacy windows should bring it up a little.
As I was searching online how Florett looks on the FL ... Much, much better car but in Florett

Maybe I should of gone with black optic's but I like chrome too much

Would never have another black car, especially non metallic paint, my last A3 was Brilliant Black and it was the worst. Honestly used to think it got dirty and scratched by just looking at it!

I had A1 in brilliant black temporary ... terrible, terrible black color. You can wash it an it still looks bad.
I think Mythos is different, like Phantom black on my old 2007 A3. It has to be metallic .

@Snake Pliskin has floret rs3 and that is one amazingly stunning motor. Maybe he will see this and drop a pic up for you.

very kind thanks Sandra :)

Yes I absolutely love floret silver and would even go as far as saying its my fave colour ever.

it is a very dark 'mercury' shade of silver - not your bright harsh silver - and changes shade in different light conditions.

It shows off the lines of the car superbly and is a dream to look after & keep clean.

We liked it so much we got 2 lol :icon thumright:

Much of this is down to personal taste and ultimately it's you who has to be happy once you own it.
Personally, me and the wife have had loads of black cars (including the current TT) and would go for Floret which I think is stunning.
I also don't worry about the maintenance of a black car as much as some.

Both look great, especially suits the curves of the RS arches.

What's your build date? Seams strange that after just 2 weeks your dealer is saying things can't be changed. I changed things to my order after a few weeks, and I ordered mine end of December for March delivery.

If you want to change colour, insist the dealer does this for you. It may put back your build slot, but yet again it might not. If the dealer had made an error, I bet it would be changed.

Black is always hard to maintain, but looks great when clean. I only think Floret Silver looks good on S3 / RS3 due to the wider wheel arches.

I avoid Silver cars now, as they seem to be a bit of a jinx for me.

Thank you all for the help! :icon thumright:

@Snake Pliskin both of your cars look increnible! Thank's for posting the pics.

Dealer said that factory confirmed production of the car (second half of the 3rd month) and it's not possible to change color anymore. Car should be delivered in the first half of the 4th month.
I think that S3/RS3 and even S-line look great in any color :friendly wink:.

You had bad luck with silver cars?

For me it's just black or silver (at least when we talk about basic colors, for sport version of A3). I had Phantom black 2007 A3 for 4 years and now preFL A3 for 2 years in Florett silver. When I had black one I said I won't buy another black car ever and now I'm think about buying one again :grimacing:.

I wasn't :tongueclosed: chose Ara before seeing it in person and when I did, I knew I was happy.

Floret was one of the other colours I had in mind before Ara became available. Black never entered my head, looks great when clean and swirl free but when it's all swirly and the sun is on it, it looks awful! Don't think you'll regret Floret @TomislAv3

lads are like girls when it comes to cars. You have a car in a certain colour and then you are going to a party and want to be noticed, then it is time to put a new frock on! I have tried most other colours but blue is my favourite and black is at the bottom of my list for upkeep reasons.

I've heard silver described as a stealth colour............... why? ..... just another silver Audi.
We went for Misano, ( silver before this one) but if we needed a replacement Floret would be very high on my list.
