My dealer contacted me today to say the car will arrive with them tomorrow, but I'm not collecting to the 1st Sept - will be a long two and a half weeks. They said they would send a video across in the next couple of days.

Mine is still showing to be built a week today, be like a kick in the .... if they move it now!!
Few people have cars on ships now.
My local dealer is expecting two to be here within a week or so, they are on the ship.

Mine was a converted dealer order originally ordered by the dealer on the 20th June according to the tracker, I placed my order with them on the 7th July, in all honesty I amazed at how quickly it has arrived the quickest out of any car I have ever ordered. Original build date was week 41 so wasn't expecting until late this year.

Not very, however you can get more info from status codes - try this thread there is instructions on how to find your orders current status codes - hope that helps and apologies if you know it already

You would have to be an idiot to register before 1st September considering it is only 2wks away and a new plate.
The first customer cars will be registered then.

It could be waiting for the boat for a while, all depends on slots! Tracker seems to run 2-4 days behind I think, this is proven by it being a few days slow to update when the car gets to the dealer.

What benefit is there having a 67 plate?! If your keeping the car then it doesn't matter. And for anyone else who sees your new RS3 17 plate will think your baller.

Mine still shows as order received in the tracker, due to start build 28th August.... status 10.

So not very accurate at all by a fair whack.

You never know when you might need to sell a car. Rightly or wrongly, people prefer a newer plate and will pay more, include dealers.

Had word from my dealer that my car has been built over the weekend and it's completed! Got VIN and Engine... but still gotta wait for another 2mths+ before it reaches down under.

Well it does matter as trade value ranges are based on registration plate and nothing else. A 67 reg RS3 will be worth more than a 17 plate RS3 and always will be all the way through its life.
A car registered on 31st August will be worth less than a car registered on the 1st September. However, a car registered on the 1st September will be priced the same as a car registered on the 28th Feb near 6 months later. On the 1st March the 6 month cycle starts again and an 18 reg 1st March RS3 is worth more than a 28th Feb 67 reg RS3.
Trade values work on 6 month periods, it's sheer stupidity to register a car now (unless incentivised by discount to offset the resultant dip in value) when the new plate is here in 2wks. Dealers often advertise incentives to get you to register at this time.

So you ordered on the 8th July - and it has been delivered on the 15 August - that bonkers fast. Must be the first RS3 in the UK for customers.

this is the 5th new Audi I have ordered and all have taken considerable more time and delivery dates slipped back (this one moved forward) - this time it just worked out I guess I was lucky to pick up an dealer order placed on the 20th June

Have you looked at the "YourAudi" site to see if it shows that the build has commenced?
Just popped down to Cardiff Audi to find out better info on when one will be there, only to be shocked to find a Catalunya RS3 Saloon
Supposed to be under wraps they said, asked for the keys and got denied. When I asked again and said I've been following it for 13 months they came and opened it, but wouldn't start it.
Will upload pictures when I get chance because Photobucket is being stupid.
What I can tell from cars arrived so far, all of the demonstrators are base, base spec This one only seemed to have extended leather as an option. Everything else was bog standard, including the exhaust which is disappointing.

Well done! Love to see the pictures. You would think audi would spec the demo cars up to show off.
I wonder how many other dealers have them now then. So I take it the red one was a customers?

Afaik the demo cars are sent out and spec'd direct by Audi. Dealers have no say in the matter. All or most PFL demo's were like that too.

I am over the moon, even though it was a Saloon and in Catalunya (least favourite colour) I couldn't stop smiling the whole time and had to be dragged away by my girlfriend. I'm going back tomorrow to show my brother
I've seen a few photos online of cars in centres, all seem to be billy basic :/
The Catalunya car was a dealership car, they said it will be going in the showroom in a matter of days but they don't know when it will become a demonstrator. I'd like to think they would have a sports exhaust at minimum for a demonstrator, but oh well.
I am in work now, but will try and figure out a way of posting them for sure.
Well Audi have done an absolute rubbish job of it, totally standard and looks that way! It's one of those cars that you'd see on the Approved market for 8 months because nobody wants it.

Oh I agree. The 2015 demonstrator that I went out in looked awful, nardo and silver which is ***** imho. Hardly any options either. Still loved it though

It definitely is, the smile is real
It had chrome tips, one of the first things I looked for. I saw the car side on between parked cars, I clocked the exhaust tips and ran to it!
