I think my throttle body is dead, many reasons, idles weird, over revs on gearchanges, and said 0.0% for throttle position on idle at Bills, not doing that one anymore but i still think its shot. I done a TB alignment or whatever its called then checked the position with the pedal just resting and again flat to the floor... was hoping to compare to somebody whos car works properly? Surely the percentages should atleast be similar?.. Thanks anyone who can help :)

So accelerator pedal in rest position

And flat to the floor...

I live in Lanivet, you could look at mine?
P.s my car used to over Rev on gear changes and I replaced the clutch switch and it cured it. ( thanks to this forum! )

Ive put 2 clutch switches in this, both from audi and the problem persists.

Well if you need my TB to try then I could come over... I delivered heating oil to your house so I know where you are.

Just had vcds on my car to do something else so thought I would have a look my readings they are all within 1% of your above figures

So this is really ******* me off now. Seems to be everytime im in the high rpms going from 3rd to 4th, 4th to 5th and 5th to 6th the revs jump up. Anyone got any ideas? I have checked in vcds and can see the clutch switch working. Had a smoke test at badger5 and i was air tight. Its definately not me being a **** as ive paid special attention to make sure im off the throttle before dipping the clutch and it still does it. Its driving my mental.

Mines being doing this for ages if I'm high revs and take foot of pedal it jumps even if I don't press clucth at all, does drive you mad

Any codes for the TB? disconnect it and reconnect it. Align it on VCDS again and check block 032.

Taken from another thread:

There are two fields in the block, and both belong to fuel trims.

Left hand one is short term adaption, right hand one is long term adaption. Left hand one is the one to look at in this instance.

Make a note of these two figures. Reset the fault codes (even if there are none), as this will clear the fuel trim data back to 0% for both blocks.

Then start the motor and log block 032. If the value in the left hand block steadily climbs to or past the 3-4% area, it's normally a good indication of a leak.

the percentages are supposed to be different.

One starts from 0 and moves towards 100 as the throttle opens, the other starts from 100 and moves towards zero as the throttle opens. This allows the ECU some redundancy.

Have you checked the clutch switch within VCDS to ensure its switching over correctly. There should be a measuring block that shows you its status.

I fitted one recently as part of a DBW conversion, and while it looked like it was fitted and working, it wasnt far enough in and was constantly in the "clutch down" position.
