It's all down hill half the journey home,then about 6miles average speed cameras,so that leaves about 5miles on normal dual carriageway's and l was knackered couldn't be bothered driving actually,even at other times driving home it's never gone over 34mpg so **** knows what's happening lol

I will be honest, I have not checked mpg that closely.
But when I did examine it on a couple of occasions it was suprisingly good and MUCH better than my previous S5. The range when I fill up says 350 miles and the S5 was only 290 miles.
I am using Shell V Power for the RS3 though and the S5 was fine with regular 95 ron.
So I am paying a premium for Super Unleaded fuel now.

If you drive it with care and only boot on a few choice occasions and rest of the time treat it like "a normal car lol" then you can get 35 mpg with ease. it is 7 speed remember so you can tick over at very low rpm @ 50mph to 70mph quite easily.

However, go for some choice demo laps and show people what the car is capable of, or drive it round in dynamic and the mpg can plummet big time

Overall I am very impressed at the mpg and it is much better than my last car, albeit that was an older 3.0 litre lump.

The 7th gear will make all the difference on motorways mate,peak mpg on a S3 is at 2000rpm at 50mph the RS3 will be higher and better,the S3 needs a high ratio for top gear or a 7th gear.

Yeah it can be frugal if you want it to be.
Loving the car mate, it has made an impression on me more than any other car and by some considerable margin too.

I got driven around in a Nardo Grey RS3 and i loved it and if you can afford to drive around in a S or RS car you are not looking at the MPG.

If I couldn't of sorted a deal to replace my s3 with the Rs3 then I would've gone back to ford. Audi haven't lived up to the expectations of a so called premium brand.

If I hadn't of got the full value of mind against the RS3, I wouldn't of considered it either. After 2 problem cars I just needed to change.

I don't blame you mate - getting the full value back is a real difference maker but fully warranted after the issues you've had to sort out.

I really think I might trade my A3 for the RS3 when it comes to America.

The 5 cylinder engine, the race car like exhaust, the cool extreme bumper trims, that Virtual **** Pit LCD instrument cluster.



Why waste money on the other facelift 8Vs, the RS3 in sedan form for US will be a must. I just hope it's not ridiculously priced. I suspect it will be starting at $50K USD , which is on the same level as the Mercedes CLA45 AMG.
