Been doing research on this for weeks.....

£600 for Eibach coilovers
Bilstein are single tube, KW are twin tube.
Twin tube will be more comfortable on a street car with single tube being suited for performance track driving or high speed use.
KW make Eibach dampers and Eibach make better springs then KW........... so essentially the Eibachs are the best coilover for a street car and will be the ones im getting.
Also its only £600, this is £400 cheaper than the KW variants which are the same with different springs.

Reason I say ask them as I was told on my MK2 Leon Cupra to set them to 2 rear and 3 front for road use and track 5 rear & 8 front, but your doing it the other way round and stiffening up the rear as apposed to the front, obviously the Cupra was fwd so may be different, but makes sense really when you think you have more weight on the front with the engine and the driver over the front end?

I had those eibachs coilovers on my last car at first and they were comfy but swapped them for the b16s when the dampers give in. The b16s were spot on tbh could set them to 1 all round and be comfy or stiffen them up for fast road in about 2 mins. The b16s were better quality still looked new when they came off after a good clean and the overall feel on the road damping wise was just a step up to the eibachs, everything was just spot on with them!

B12 kit which offers no adjustment and a fixed amount of lowering can e had for £450...
Might be the perfect setup, just worried that the fixed drop is too much, it doesn't state how much it lowers.

It would depend what springs you put on them I guess, normally there paired up with either eibach pro or sportline kit, in which case by the time you've bought springs may aswell have bought the b14 kit.

Ok the seller is saying that none of the s3 kits fit my car?
I have the hatchback buy the only listings are for sport back, saloon or convertible.
I assume the sport back will be the correct one??

Need your help guys.
I'm assuming it's the s3 Quattro, the seller is unhelpful and just says doesn't fit....

Pretty sure our 3dr code is 8V1. The bottom listing?

Defo is 8v1 I just checked on eibach shop.com and the sport back/cab and saloon have their codes next to them. Seller obviously has no clue on them haha

They'll fit no problem its only because the sportback is a bit heavier, probs use different spring rates or something along those lines.

The thing is I'm worried it's 50mm and not 55mm, as a few kits have 50mm listed which is incorrect.
I can spend another £100 and get b14s which I know for a fact fit.... Argh decisions

You def need the ones for a strut diameter of 55mm. My B16s will fit any 8V A3 or any Mk 7 golf with

Oops, to finish the post, they're suitable for and will fit any 8V or mk7 golf with a 55mm strut diameter.

There aren't separate B16 kits for the sb, hatch or saloon.

Weird, why do they lost seperate models with different codes?

Yep they are all incorrect
My axle load is 1055 - 1020

All the bilstein listed are 1090 - 1035

So going to hold off for now.

So what we have learned from this is that the suppliers are 100% correct, there are no coilovers/dampers for our hatchbacks.
Check the drivers side door where they state the axle loads, the coil over kits are designed for : Front 1090 - Rear 1035 axle loads.

If the coilovers are rated higher, surely that means they can cope, or am i missing somthing?

Really that's like having half a passenger in the front (45kg) and less than half a fuel tank (15kg) of loading difference.

That's actually quite a lot!

Anyway I but the bullet and bought b12 pro bilsteins, they use eibach springs and cost me £480 shipped!

Fingers crossed they fit and are comfy....

Good luck with the B12's. Look forward to a great review! :)

Aze tuning will not sell to me as apprently bilstein don't allow them to sell to the UK?!

Annoyed right now and waiting for a refund

Just get yourself b16s for just over £1000 mate

In Germany the B16 cost about 1400€ excluding tax.
Including tax you're looking at around 1670€.
1000£ would be pretty cheap then.

i paid about 1490 euro, the rate was 1.42 at that time although I paid in euros anyway as thats what im paid in

Have you got yours fitted yet Hdobson?
If so, then what do you think about the B16? Worth it?

I dont need B16's, B12 will be perfect for my needs.
I am getting really frustrated as nobody has stock of any bilsteins and the eibach coilover kit is 50mm strut diameter which wouldnt fit the S3!

So everybody is listing the wrong shocks and i am getting fed up of messaging sellers in germany!

Further updates on the B14.

Few weeks in, im satisfied with them. They are not perfect, but for everyday use they are totally acceptable. Some background; I live in Dubai. The roads for the most part are smooth as glass (for the most part).
I did notice however, when pushing it on uneven winding roads (wavy roads/improperly laid out asphalt) the car doesnt react well and becomes a bit unsettled. Was a bit disappointed, but a bad road is a bad road, and cant really fault the non damping adjustable coilovers for that. For middle tier "comfort" street coilovers they punch well above ther weight class. As a daily, im still super impressed with how comfortable the car is, and how it performs.

The real test would be on a spiritied mountain drive or track day, but its getting quite hot here now, so will probably have to wait til after the summer for that.

Got a link to where you ordered from?
I wouldn't want to recommend them as they have taken my money and still have not responded to my emails regarding a tracking number...

Have had to raise a dispute with the seller of the B14s!
Its obvious they dont have them in stock, they dont respond to emails and when i finally raised a dispute they provided me with a tracking number however for a week now this tracking number has stated the package has not been sent!
Now having to make a claim through paypal :-(

Cant buy any coil overs until i get my money back........ this is such a hassle!!!
