I really can't stand the way the advanced key looks like.

It's massive and doesn't look worthy of an audi badge so I was wondering if I could change it to the sleeker more modern looking key that the larger audi cars have.

Can it be done or am I stuck with this ugly thing?

Looks pretty cool if you ask me:

.....besides, who cares you never need to take it out of your pocket ;)

That's an a4 key... Not a3 or s3.

The advanced key looks the same as the normal key.

That's the one I want. Unfortunately the one that comes with the S3 looks old and bulky.

I asked my dealer about this key but it wasn't available on the S3. Anyone know more about it and why it can't be ordered on an S3?

Turns out this is an auxilary heating key that has nothing to do with the actual car key. Who would want to carry two keys anyway how stupid!

That key... Is for the heater. Not the car.
It's really stupid that they use the "old" key. But I guess it's some saving or something.

Here you can compare a4 key to a3.
Both keys looks the same, does not matter if they are normal or advanced keys.

In the brochure there was a statement that s3 should have a special key. But this wasn't the case. I complained about this... Luckily I got some compensation for it. Some key covers, sun glasses and something else, don't remember what it was :)

The brochure promised so much, and yet .... :)

Like a special key for the S3, the stainless steel footplate that all the LHD cars get but not the RHD 1's to name but a few

This is Audi, and you are buying a A3 ;)

So what? All mercedes keys are the same and the key looks great doesn't matter if its an A class or S class they are all the same keys!

I am a MB fanboy but went for an S3 because it is superior to an A45 amg or CLA 45 amg in every way except the engine.

Also the same key for a £100k+ S500 as a Sprinter van…

The AMG key is mint and even comes in its own presentation box ;)

For me the nsx key wins all. Simple and beautifully milled from a single block of metal

I just look at the smartphone app and it shows me exactly where I parked my A3, including whether or not it has been locked :)

No panic buttons down-under.

Would have been nice if the there was something more was done with the key, even if just a S3 badge on the back - bit like the rest of the car, a fraction more differentiation from an S-line would have been nice (apart from the 4 pipes out the back - of course)
