I have a audi a3 8v 2.0 tdi (crlb engine) made in 07.2015 with bi-xenon and auto lights (no AFS/no cornering lights). My car came with a regular frameless mirror without any function (not even auto dimming).
I bought a mirror from a breakyard and it has the code 8T0857511AD.
I made all the wiring (it is a 7 pin mirror) and i connected as per elsawin (except J533 can connections) this way:
- pin no. 1 to power
- pin no. 2 to ground
- pin no. 3 to Can bus extended high (orange/gray wire in pin no.5 in t17a - low left A Pillar)
- pin no. 8 to Can bus extended low (orange/brown wire in pin no.6 in t17a - low left A Pillar)
I did not connect the rest of the wires yet because i do not have the auto-dimming side mirrors and i did not find any black/blue wire in my front interior light module.
I added the 20 High Beam Assist Module to the 19 Can Gateway and i assured it is "coded" in the instalation list.
I coded the 09 Central Electronics and made the required adaptations as per the on line instructions - when i push once the high beam lever to the front i get the symbol in the cluster as if the HBA is activated and i get no error message in the DIS. If i remove one or both of the can connections, i get an HBA error message in the DIS - so i think the can connections are ok.

The problem is that the HBA system is not working (the auto-dimming feature work fine).
As you can see in the autoscan file, there is no comunication between the Can Gateway and the HBA module and i also can not connect to the HBA module with my genuine hex+can interface. So i can not code anything to it. I drove with the HBA activated (simbol present in the DIS) above 60 km/h and above 100 km/h, but there is no reaction regarding the low/high beam change.
Is there any way to make the HBA to work even if this mirror is not specific to a3 8v? Has anyone managed to do this?
