Apollo Agu Slow Progress Thread

Not much to report as I've been doing all the overtime I can ATM to buy new parts, my battery finally decided to give up and leak over my terminals properly so I ordered this little beauty last week Image Put it up front of the bay for now as I'm waiting on the length of cable to come so I can put it in the boot and free some space up front, the car turns over very well now for such a small battery lets see how It goes, I've also ordered some polytek for my engine mounts some new pressed plates and a leon cupra r steering rack with polybush so just waiting on arrival now oh exciting

Had the cupra r rack fitted today and the steering feels much better now brilliant improvement to the car I also told him to fit the front arb but when I got there he said it looked the same so I thought why swap it. Nobber unless he was trying to get extra cash but as he had to tKe the rack out I don't see why he didn't do it. Anyway it cost me £90 not sure if that's good or bad but it's paid and I'm happy, this weekend I'm going to poly the engine mounts and re locate the battery to the boot woooooop

He said it was fine mate it's in my boot unsure where to sell it now lol, Today I got a bargain saw some wheels on gumtree for 100 pound the only problem he was 2 and half hours away hmmm anyway the chap was kind enough to bring the wheels for 150 cash they are rota g force copies or something like that I havnt seen them before but they are to my taste was saving for xxr 527 but at 150 I can't say no 17x7. No problems with them. ImageImage

Sooo today I found out a new top speed on a private road.... 150 mph with 1500 revs left till 7k that's in a 5 speed box no remap as of yet standard with a k03s and sfs tip 3 to 2.5" turbo back exhaust impressed and shook me :nevreness:

Little spring update got my s3 arms and poly bushes in Image, LCR track rod ends arrived today just waiting on guns and then new coilovers to be purchased going to be poor, I emailed r tech yesterday to book in as the car seems to be running fine now and has been for the last few months just need a quick compression test and get my injectors cleaned and make sure they are 100% working as they should and then just waiting for these beauty's to dry and they can go on... Image, ahh also removed the air con yesterday in a mad moment that's saved me 12kg pssht still 12kg, had my car on the weigh bridge yesterday and it's coming in at 1130kg with half a tank of fuel so around 1137kg or 1107 without fuel and 1217kg with me in and fuel, not sure if that's good or bad but I'm aiming for sub 1000kg then i be happy still have the original passenger seat which I'm changing next month that should be 20kg saved, and rear seats as I have a child who enjoys the car too lol, so happy spring everyone

Just had the tracking done aswell it was ermmm out. Rear is as follows Image going to replace rear bushes to see if I can get it even and then 2 degrees neg shims, and front was Image defiantly out, camber is still the same but toe is 0.10 in now

Quite a cool read, and good reading you starting with little knowledge. Then, as the thread goes on you can see you've learnt alot more just by the way you describe things.

Keep up the good work mate!

So today I got a heap set of tyres off a friend 40 pound for 4 Chen shing brand tyres 225/45/17 with 7mm of tread untill I get the semi slicks or conti sport 5s I may try, anyhow first impressions wheels feel heavier on the car to be expected acceleration slightly slower and overall pull slightly slower l but much more comfy than the 16s with semi slicks up front and uni royals on the back havnt had chance to drive it properly yet only to work but so far heavier and more comfy turn in is still brilliant with this LCR rack quick mug shot
Image
ahh also ordered centre caps they are 74mm bore which annoyed me as the lad told me 56.1 but hey ho there on now and for 100 large ones can't complain

So @A3-Lee just came and got my steering rack it's good to see a face off here at last nice car indeed mate she's a beauty

Glad you like it mate yours is smart too sure we will see a lot more of each other lol

Quick update from fierce entire Canary Islands my steering rack that I put on a few weeks ago kept leaking fluid full to empty in less than 3 miles journey had it checked over and it's f&@ked so I purchased a new LCR steering rack for £175 with warrant to cover myself at least the last rack was only £35 pound that explains why it's knack erred so fast haha anyway have a 26mm rear anti roll bar coming too for when I'm home all will be fitted not posted much as nothing really gone wrong or right just enjoying it I've changed a few pipes and changed the s2000 filter as personally I felt it was rubbish with a standard map I bought a cheap foreign 75mm one that looks like a red JR filter and personally i think the car feels much better no extra air sucking no sluggish behaviour works well for 12 pound :blackrs4: Pics soon as I'm home but here's one for now

Another fast update been working too much lately I had my new vr6 clutch and smf 7kg flywheel fitted feels much better on acceleration and nice on deceleration feels like I'm actually driving a half decent car now even though it is t haha, my man @antwan64og sent me his stage 1 ecu to try and it feels a lot better pulls hard at 3500rpm though 13.5-14 psi nice and aggressive when it kicks in but was thinking it should be 16-18 psi at least like it is in his anyway It's inspired me to love the car more which is what I was hoping so thank a lot for lending me that dude, on another note my front left coilover is bending when I turn full right so I ordered some new AP coilovers from Damian at dpm performance unfortunately none in stock in the country but they should be here by next Friday a nice price of £378 aswell should be a way better improvement than these cheap rocks I'm using now so roll on fun times hoping to book some track days as soon as the suspension is on with my s3 cast arms offset bushes and s3 hubs all fun and games

Yeah dude going to do some tomorrow morning as the road I usually use had a bend soon as I reach the limit and I don't feel safe so going to find a new piece of private road tomorrow morning will get the. Up by 10am earlier the. Send it back Thursday if that's ok

So this is antwans k03s stage 1 ecu in my k03s stage 2 bolt on mods agu with the ecu it's pulling to only 14psi and drops to roughly 13psi turbo doesn't fully kick in till 3400rpm but here are the pics as I can not find how to upload a proper log, can anybody tell
Me by looking if there is anything that looks off on my car or whatever I have no clue but it has a few degrees knock some thought the revs only at times no idea what this means lol, 3000rpm to limit in 3rd gear

Lol, you didn't even let the car warm up, 60 degrees coolant temps!

180 G/S is enough air for 225hp.

With the stock ecu you make 170 G/S at 6400rpm, with the flashed ecu you make 170 G/S from 5700rpm.

The Flashed ecu must bring the boost in sooner and gives abit more area under the curve.

Theres not a huge difference though.

The supersize tip made the biggest difference to me, 17 G/S increase on the crappy stock ko3.

I have a creation motorsport tip but not a supersize one yet, and it said 90degrees on the clock lol mybad, the boost on standard ecu comes in at 3000 rpm latest, the boost does kick in sooner on the flashed ecu but not full boost you can really feel it at 3600rpm . all packaged up ready to send to you tomorrow after work aswell,

Ah I see now I hadn't a clue at first with all those numbers I'll try again let it warm up for 15 minutes on idle like I did then but will go for a 10 minute drive first, any explanation what the knock means as I can't find anything online and it's only at certain points that it gives numbers ? Thanks for the replies gents

Its just where it pulls timing out, Bill has mentioned he consides tunes safe before if they pull upto 6 degrees if timing occasionally.

The odd knock at high rpm Can be valvetrain noise if its not consistent

I need to take you out in mine mate drop me a text and let me know when your free

Just looked at my logs and depending on the outside weather coolant temp stays between 70 and 80 degrees.

You can view the live data in Block 3.

Consistently i was pulling 171-172 G/S with the ko3, since you've had that spec 1 ECU I've fitted the 3" decat so I'll log again when it comes back and see if your ko3s is far ahead of me, lol.

It shouldn't be far ahead lol as my brother has an agu k03 with just a downpipe turbo back exhaust and an air filter fitted and his beats my car on acceleration until 45 ish then mid to top end I take over lol,

Right gentlemen my gear selector is really doing my head in so need to buy an 02j linkage and sack my 02a off it doesn't select first or reverse very well and it's just letting the car down has anyone any info on this as I will most likely knacker my car up attempting this swap I've found an 02j linkage and selector on the flea bay for 35 pound buy it now w

Also fitted my AP coil overs the weekend cost 378 which were pretty decent the ride is firm but handles much better than the cheap tat that were on the car before still very firm though on the roads around here but enjoyable and fairly easy to fit, accidentally split my inner cv boot don't ask not sure how but all is well haven't got a decent picture of how it sits but approx half way down the thread front and rear so 40mm ish drop I think it said was in between, but his goon has his car in front of mine so I shall find a nice location the weekend

Ok so the weekend I finalllly got round to fitting the s3 wishbones and castor offset poly bushes what a nightmare getting the old balljoints out they just kept spinning and spinning and spinning the vice grips wouldn't hold the shaft or anything so in the end I got the trusty hack saw out and cut the bolts off ,

now the r32 anti roll bar rubs on the drive shaft so need adjustable or do shortened drop links to pull the bar higher my AP coils are only half way down that's 25mm I think, the r32 arb which I read goes under the drive shaft but mine goes over as apparently the mechanic who fitted it said it just wouldn't go under as the middle of the bar was shaped exactly like my a3 one and if reversed would slot in correctly? anyway here's a few pics

Image Image Image Image Image

Also got a heat shield finally the other day 4.5mm thick well 2x 2.25 stuck together 350mm x 400mm £18 and it works brilliant the temperature under bonnet after a 20 minute drive before was ridiculously hot and now they must have dropped Atleast 30 or more degrees Atleast, Need to re locate the catch can and fit an air feed for the air filter then that's me done bar a remap new seats and some track days woooop

So last Saturday was a sad day I had an offer for the audi £1800 I wouldn't of offered that and the audi got sold, I purchased an audi a6 the following day 2.7 bi turbo and the following following day on the way to work the electrics went all funny so the garage got an angry call and now I have purchased a mk4 escort with full rs turbo running gear and engine at 210bhp she's lovely and original all over, I'm sad about the audi but I will be back just with an me7 or a LCR at christmas time I would like to thank you all whoever reads and will read this for the help I've been given great community

What?
Why did you do that? Lol.
Ah well, good luck with the Ford (Fix or repair daily).
