More vagcom VCDS help

Hello,

while driving round yesterday I noticed the auto wipers are not as sensitive as I'd like them to be, is there anyway via VCDS that I could make these more sensitive, I've tried the dial on the wiper stalk but no joy.

Also if I hold the open bottom on the key fob down all the windows go down, but when I hold the closed only the front windows go up and leaving the rear windows down. Had a look on VCDS and can not seem to find anything, will I need to adapt? Someone has told me it may because my car has folding mirrors but I find this hard to believe.

This is normally the case when the windscreen hasn't been replaced with a genuine Audi windscreen and the sensor and gel pad aren't making correct contact or something along those lines. Do you know if the windscreen has been replaced?

The rear windows need re-training - hold the up switch for around 10-15 seconds after they stop rising to reset them to their upper limits.

The up switch being the front window switch for the rears both sides or the rear individual switches in rear doors or the lock button on the key fob.

The rear window switches on the drivers door should suffice.

Well, tried opening rear windows from the switches in the front and then closing them with same switches, then holding the switches for 15 seconds turned car off, then lock car with key fob, open windows all works fine . Then holding the lock bottom on key fod front windows only go up again so still not working. Also noticed that the one touch close from the window switches only work on the front and not the rear.

Many more suggestions. Seems like I've enherited someone else's problems .....

I took the rear view mirror off on mine and played about with that gel pad and gave it all a clean and it sorted my wipers and auto headlights, the wipers was useless and the headlights use or stay on in the day time prior to this .

No need to replace screen, they may have not put the gel pad in there, it's only a couple of quid from audi .

If you can get a good close up pic on here of the outside if your windscreen I should be able to tell whether the gel pad has been put back to save you dismantling the mirror .

Just need a close up of the top of the windscreen where the rear view mirror attaches.

If the gel pad is missing or fitted incorrectly it will look clear like the above pic.

If it has had the gel pad fitted and correctly it will look all black from a distance as shown in pic below.

It does look like it's missing , if it looks clear when standing back from the vehicle then I'd say its defo missing.

Sorry don't have part number but as soon as you ask for the gel pad at the dealership they should know, think it's only around 10 quid.

Does your auto lights stay on in the day ? Any issues with them?

No the rear windows don't work one touch from any of the switches. The front windows are working perfect.

I may be wrong, but for comfort/convenience windows to work from the fob, you need one-touch windows.

So you need to fix your one-touch (if fitted to the rear) first.

just tried this now. Still no joy, no soft touch on the rears still and still not closing with the key.

Really don't understand what is going on....I've just noticed that the rear drivers window switch is faulty! Maybe this could be the problem

Almost certainly. Any VCDS fault codes?
You must get one touch working first, before convenience close will work from the fob.

Pretty certain that it should bring up a fault code , mine brings up a fault code for it, the one touch plays up sometimes, only on my drivers door , the rest are fine but it for sure shows the fault on VCDS .

I'm still getting the problem with the one touch on the rear windows, I've replaced the switch and tried resetting the both rear windows.

Still no joy.....this car is really begining to pee me off now.

remove the battery for an hour or so , some times after messing with the coding it locks the system out.

You've got incorrect coding on the stereo/Nav unit for a start (2 errors).

Do you have full VCDS to be able to go and check the long coding settings within the convenience features? If not I suggest you find someone local from the VCDS map section that can help you.

Yes I have full VCDS Ross tech hex can and the coding on the RNSE is correct now.......it was due to someone fitting the tv head rest to the car the head unit is sorted........

What should the coding be for the rear windows.
