Hello all,
after much hard work, we will shortly be able to offer our map switching, launch control and flatshift feature for 2.0 TFSI/S3 engined cars
This will give you up to 5 different custom map sets without the need for any additional hardware. These 5 maps are all custom tunes on the car, and can be done to the customers requirements. For example, different fuels including E85, different boost levels, different throttle response, valet mode, security mode, water/meth injection map.
In addition, for non DSG cars, Launch control and flat shift will be available. This is unlike the factory launch control, it builds significant boost (2 bar is possible!) on the line whilst stationary. Probably more suited to the 4WD cars. Flat shift allows you to keep your foot to the floor while changing gear on a manual car. The boost does not drop off at all, meaning much quicker changes and quicker acceleration through the gears.
No additional hardware is needed - it is purely software. No cruise control is needed either, selection is carried out using the pedals
Currently, the software is running on my own Audi A3. It is in extended testing, and working well. A little more evaluation is needed and then it will be available
The feature will be very similar to what we have been doing for a while on The RS4 and 1.8T's - see video here:
