Hello all,

after much hard work, we will shortly be able to offer our map switching, launch control and flatshift feature for 2.0 TFSI/S3 engined cars :)

This will give you up to 5 different custom map sets without the need for any additional hardware. These 5 maps are all custom tunes on the car, and can be done to the customers requirements. For example, different fuels including E85, different boost levels, different throttle response, valet mode, security mode, water/meth injection map.

In addition, for non DSG cars, Launch control and flat shift will be available. This is unlike the factory launch control, it builds significant boost (2 bar is possible!) on the line whilst stationary. Probably more suited to the 4WD cars. Flat shift allows you to keep your foot to the floor while changing gear on a manual car. The boost does not drop off at all, meaning much quicker changes and quicker acceleration through the gears.

No additional hardware is needed - it is purely software. No cruise control is needed either, selection is carried out using the pedals :)

Currently, the software is running on my own Audi A3. It is in extended testing, and working well. A little more evaluation is needed and then it will be available :)

The feature will be very similar to what we have been doing for a while on The RS4 and 1.8T's - see video here:

I don't even care about the system right this minute... Just the flames from the exhaust in that video! Holy crap! Haha.

What would be the cost of this, admittedly desirable sounding, map for a 2007 S3 Rick?

Just makes me want for a couple more cylinders!

Cost is going to depend on what you want, and the spec of car. Every single file is different, an it's going to be a minimum of a full days work for each car. For early adopters I will sort out a discount. I'll update the thread when we are ready to roll :)

I've recently had an Apr map and this sounds really good, wish I had heard about it sooner as I don't get the additional features apr off due to a lack of cruise control :/

I dropped my Edition 30 off at Ricks yesterday to finish the map off and test it with launch control, my car is front wheel drive so kind of pointless having proper launch but who cares when you can sit at the lights making lots of pops and bangs? My car is DSG too so would be pretty cool to see how it works with that, would be an awesome mod for DSG S3's!

Very giddy to have my car finished and get it back now, hopefully some videos soon. :sly:

After many, many, many! hours of testing, I'm pleased to announce this map switching feature is now fully up and running! Test mule's have been a K03 car and also a highly modded K04 car (Golf ED30)

The default map can either be a valet map with reduced performance, or completely standard. You can then quickly switch to up to 4 other maps which to allow different boost, throttle response or even fuel type. Video's of switching in action will follow in due course.

These maps are 100% truly, absolutely custom developed entirely in house. If there is something very specific you want, the chances are we can develop it :)

Thanks, Rick

Wow. This sounds great. Any chance of getting this sw to Norway?

Will my redo stage 2+ Bang and flame like that?

Looks awesome that!

Its a full decat turbo back miltek!

What is the launch control like with the turbo? I have heard horror stories of them blowing!

What is your best option for the 2.0TFSI "TSI" -CCZA- engine and DSG (late 2008.5)
do you offer the K04 turbo upgrade?

I have never had a turbo fail yet, it's not like antilag where there is a huge temperature build up, as this is only active for a very short period. I can't however guarantee your turbo, just from experience so far they have been fine.

flames come from what? Too rich mixture of fuel/o2 ? I love LC but dont like flames

Flames come from combustion of fuel late in the combustion cycle. This is what allows boost to be generated at low RPM.

If you don't want it this way, then a secondary revlimit can be set just like the factory do with DSG cars, but this doesn't really gain you anything.

Rick

Can this work with Revo sw? I need this, WOT box can't build enough boost in my case, only 0.3 bar which is not enough for some really rough surfaces

Hi Rick, is this compatible with APR stage 2+ maps then bud? Would love the flat shift and launch control as well as the flames if possible!
I'm running a BCS full powervalve exhaust with decat bud.

Id also like to know this^ , just spent £600 on an apr map but i want that launch controll and flatshift!

I dont see this to be compatible with other map's. To get these functions a Unicorn map must be used....

This is awesome. Can you guys also do a motorsport rev limiter like Apr do. My s3 sounds ***** when it just sits at 7200. I want it to bounce and bang. Lol

My apr stage1 map doesent have a rev limit where it bounces back i dont think, ive took it past 7300 revs and it was still going round so i let off before i blew it up

There must be a rev limit somewhere, depending on where they've set it,otherwise it's not only an omission on the mapper's part, but a big problem waiting to happen.

Some of these guys do set the limit rather high on stock vlavetrains(i.e.7500 rpm or more) but frankly, that's asking for trouble.

Mine does have a lightened, uprated valvetrain and the limit is set at 7500rpm.

Yeah I'm guessing it must be somewhere, it just didn't feel right revving it that high so i gave up before i broke something!

i think revo has a rev limiter on 7500rpm's which is too much for stock engine..when you look on most power graphs there's no need to rev it over 6800rpm's. it would be best if it was set on 7000rpm's.

I honestly can't remember from my own Revo days, but there wasn't any point as you say,in trying to hang on for anything much over 6500rpm as the the torque was gone, and peak power was only a few hundred rpm away anyway.

Rick - Very interested in this although I have a question about the flat foot shift. Is this compatible with 200 cell cats or do you need to run a decat? Is there any risk of the cat being damaged by the unburnt fuel and flames out the exhaust?

So you cant get the flames and bangs on dsg launch control?? May have to swap my car for a manual!

Would you be able to design the flat shift and launch control map for an A3 3.2 Quattro manual?

Would the launch control be any use at all on a non turbo? My mate has it on his DSG model but you said its a different set up so id have that done on your advice :)
