How rare are these and how much would you expect to pay and where from ?

No, they didn't come as standard.

I think the A3/S3one is designed to fit into the lower recess in the glovebox.

Strange - mine has one in the boot in the right hand compartment. Perhaps it was added afterwards then. It's red.

Yes it goes there, i also have the origonal untouched audi bulb kit that goes in there too, plus an audi oil top up pouch, original owner must have felt flush when buying the car...

I Was sure it went in the recess of the glove compartment as well.....

i have one that fits the draw in the seat , too big for the glove box bottom
