hi having an issue, my boot won't open, and my car won't lock with the keyfob but will open with the keyfob no problem. Anyone any ideas?!

Already tried that but not it, fuse? Fob still opens car but not lock

Also, fob lights up when pressing the lock buttons but don't function

It's just a brand new battery been put on the car, had the car in n they checked the fob and it's not that either. Anyone any other ideas? Fuse related?

try to unplug the alarm system in car (lock related) by taking off the fuse, lock unlock few times the door and then plug fuse again and try, if not helps the control module can be faulty or one of cables loose or unpluged

Ok thanks do you know what fuse and if it's the dash or engine Bay Area fuse box?

should be in dash but if you take cover off you got description.

Tried this today, no joy. Only just started happening after I replaced a fuse for the cigarette lighter that had blew a while back. Can see it being fuse related, but not knowing which one, tried the alarm fuse like you said but no joy

you are looking for the proverbial needle in the haystack. you need to have the car scanned either at the shop with a VAS controller or by a fellow enthusiast with a ross tech cable. They checked the fob and it works fine? on what? Don't know where you live but look at the VCDS map and scan the car. It is not uncommon for control modules to sometimes change coding for some unknown mental reason. My boot lock was found in secure mode whn I had coded that feature out so my soft touch stopped working. I have recoded my fob when it stopped working and it now works. Not saying this is your problem but all electrics have gremlins. Look for error codes once again

So vagcom should be able to point out the issue? The fob works alright to open it, just not boot or close button and the boot won't open manually. This only happened when I changed a fuse for cigarette lighter and air ride in line fuse

from where your air ride takes power? battery or pinned somewhere else? any other electrical mods? you can also locate module itself and check for connectors, wiggle them and try again.

Goes to the fusebox in the engine bay and connected to battery. Only other electrical mods is the 2 front seats powered rather than manual. Do you know where the module may be?

http://www.oemepc.com/audi <- select audi a3 your year and look into electrics. That got any in line fuse? as well powered seats, how they are connected?

I'm not very sure the garage that done my air ride done the seats also. I know there's a 30amp inline fuse in the fusebox for the air ride, everything was alright until I changed a fuse. Will take it back to the garage in morning and hopefully they can get to the bottom of it

try to temporally take off the power for air ride and see if it helps then, if yes, something wrong with air ride wiring.

I have this exact same problem! Changed the fuse today now my locking system will not work, did you ever solve this issue??

Thanks
