I was going to keep this quiet but I can't be assed and there is a lack of modifying threads with in the B5 section.
Apart from me and Foxy (even he's gone quiet), there is nothing. So I'm here to pad it out a bit.
I had one of theses one my BMW, Wheels 'n Wires: BMW Rear Blind, I really liked it and it helpped in the dark nights with bright lights behind me. I started thinking about adding one to the Audi but wanted a electric one. I noticed one going cheap on ebay I bought it to give it ago. Never thought it would fit, not even close enough for me to carry on but it does and I am.
This is how far I got so far, bearing in mind this is my first day doing it.
Frist, strip the boot hatch and place blind on door to test for width, possible mounting points and looks.
Its a good width but there is a bit of a gap.
Thats ok, I can work that out later. Next it to extend it and see how far up it goes and if the top section will fit since the window is sort of tapered.
It does not extend all the way but thats ok. I can either leave it as it or cut the arms down to the correct length. I'll sort this out later.

Not to bad, just need to remove the old mounting brackets and push it back about 2inchs so its hidden under the black parts of the glass and I'm able to fit the trim back on.
There is a bit of a gap round the sides and the top. This is cause there is no trim. with the trim on it helps remove alot of this gap, there is still some but its acceptable.
I've removed the old mounting brackets (you can see them in the final pic), at the weekend or even friday, I'll be making some holes in the inner skin of the boot to try and move the blind closer to the boot, remove the gap and get it covered by the trim. I also need to work out how I'm going to power it up and down. I need a button and somewhere to put it.
I know the A8 (i think its the A8) has a electric reblind and the button from that was the same as a pre-facelift B5. Is there or was there any other Audis that had a electric rear blind that uses the same buttons as facelift B5s?
If not I might have found a use for that stupid little storage compartment near the cig lighter.
