Gauging interest for an airfield activity day

Ok so a long story short....

I have just come back from a Lotus activity day at North Weald airfield in Essex, where you take your own cars and basically thrash them about for the day.

The day consists of the first part of the morning doing a high speed bend, followed by splitting into two groups and doing sprint circuits that are laid out. Then pub lunch followed by swapping onto the other circuit. (These are not race tracks just coned out air strip and last about 1-2 minutes per driver). Then weather permitting a larger circuit is laid out which everyone participates in again.

The day runs from 9am to 4pm with around an hour for lunch.

The owner is happy for me to organise an Audi day so I am seeing how many are interested in it, The price will be circa £50 for the day excluding lunch and there are a maximum of 25 places per day.

For those a bit further afield there are local travel-lodges etc for overnight stays.

Just a final note, this is NOT a track day just an airfield that you can race around safely mixed with a social meet, for safety reasons only one person is driving each circuit at a time! however times are taken so people can compete.

This is primarily open to the 8l section on the forum however if needed will be opened up to other sections for numbers etc... If you are interested just say so in the poll and below and we can go from there

Awesome Interest also forgot to say the price is for the car so if you want to bring a passenger it would be ok, as it is private property you can drive each others cars etc. just remember though that they will take half your turns.... if you let them

Yeah that is my mistake, it is 1-2 minutes per run you get more than 1 Today we had 5-6 attempts at the high speed bend with 4-5 attempts at each small circuit and 4 attempts at the larger one. It all depends on how quickly people get through.

So there are 18 interested, would you lot prefer to be accompanied by any specific other car like the newer 8P group or does it not matter, Like I said there will need to be 25 for the day so atleast that interested in it before I can begin to arrange the day etc. anyone got any thoughts?

Hi Ginge,

Could you put me down as a 'possible' please? I have a few things I need to do on my car before I thrash it round an airfield, so depends on the date of this event and if the works done in time. This sounds like our own personal Vmax event....better not let on to Craig! lol

Time to put your names down folks, to get the ball rolling! I can see 25 spaces taken up rather quickly for this, since it's £50 to join in. OK, it's not a track day session, but it's still an opportunity to explore your cars limits and learn more about what it can do in the process.
