I just wanted to confirm that if I remove the clocks/ speedos from the a3 to change the dials and LCD screen, then refit the same clocks, would I have to recode them ?

Im pretty sure you will need to recode them.

Even if they are the same clocks going back in?

Hi khufu thanks for your reply, I checked the link and it doesn't work, also if I were to unplug the battery and then remove the clocks would I still get the warning lights?

Usually if its the same clocks plugged back in after initial removal, the angle sensor etc should all clear on a drive, its when you plug in another cluster & then plug yours back in, is when it needs things resetting, but even if it decides to act up as in requiring resetting of things, just requires some simple procedures with vcds, IMMO shouldnt be affected at all with an unplug/plug scenario.

Buttttt, be very careful with the pcb as to not damage it, as the cluster is the immo system as such, so beware :)
