Which exhaust??

I want to get a new stainless cat back system for my '99 A3 1.8T but I don't know where to get it from, I've looked at AMD and Vag-tuner.com but I didn't know if there were other good options? I live on the Isle of Wight so I'm going to have to get one mailed to me and then fitted by someone here so it needs to be really straight forward and a good fit, I remember reading about some people having problems with the AMD one somewhere.
Also would it be best to buy some TT pedal covers from my local Audi dealer or online somewhere?

Cheers for any help!

Steve

P.S. Dumb question, but if I take my Audi to get serviced at the dealers, are they likely to throw a fit about my Re-map and could they do anything daft like wipe it by fiddling about?

I had the Miltek provided by AMD for my old Audi A3 1.6.

Bearing in mind it was a A3 1.6 the knocks and rattles from the exhaust drove me mad. People who had the Miltek fitted to S3 and the 1.8T variants also had grumbles too.

Do your self a favour - save the cash and keep the standrd fitting exshaust, you will regret the upgrade (downgrade).

I've got a supersprint system and it's really good quality.

No, but if it's under warranty and you try to make a warranty claim, Audi may refuse to pay up if they deem the remap contributed to the failure.

unless yours is falling off, keep the standard system.

there is little if any gains on the 1.8t

Has anyone had one custom made?

Was wondering if that would be a better route to go down.

If you are buying a new system in the hope that you will get a power increase, don't bother.

Milltek, Longlife and the rest are selling a con, apologies to everyone that has bought one.

Fit a standard exhaust and on the money you save, get yourself some driving lessons at a track day and you will blow the specialists away.

Total and complete waste of money. For a few BHP increase if you are lucky. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/fuck_you.gif

I would disagree.

The 1.8T 150bhp engine can yield some noticeable power and more importantly some very nice noise.

The 150bhp 1.8T has a very well silenced exhaust compared to the S3 and removing this restriction can yield up to about 10bhp and 10ish lbft - sure it's not much per £ but the improved exhaust note is definatley worth it.

Folk are negative about S3 systems as they make no noise and no power. The milltek systems also knock and have cats that barely pass the emissions tests.

Try supersprint - I've not heard any moans about them (yet)!

I have a supersprint race system and sports cat(universal 100 cell) and i easily made it through the emissions,it's got a bit too do with the mapping aswell.

Cheers for the help and comments, I'll take a look at the Supersprint systems and see what they're like.

Not expecting any performance gains from it to be honest, just wanted to have a bit of a an exhaust note when giving it some beans, had one on my last car and miss the bark of the exhaust when i'm driving with gusto!

I have a Scorpion system linked to a Milltek high flow cat and love it, nice noise and looks too.
