Hi confused 2017 FL S3 owner here.
Like others I have lost a few of the wheel nut covers since buying the car and covering about 1500 miles, so as advised in another post, I tried to purchase a set of “genuine” Audi covers on line.
Now the original set of nut covers I have with the car are black, so I ordered what were described as genuine “black” covers and what came, although marked with an Audi part no are Grey in colour and although the locking nut cover looks the same in form, the std nut covers are a different shape

Original covers front, replacements rear
Locking cover on left and standard on right

There is a thread on here that mentioned that there was a new improved nut cover with the correct part no 4M0 601 173 B, however the part no on my original set are 4M0 601 173 C (for locking ) and 4M0 601 173 E (for standard). Audi direct don’t show them (they only show 4M0 601 173 and 4M0 601 173 A )
Does anyone know where to get the suffix C and E parts from? Or do I have to order from an Audi dealer?

I have grey covers on my 5 wing arm style alloys as like the top ones pictured in the photo and yeah you'll need to order from a Audi dealership confirming your style of alloy, but by the looks of it in your Avatar you've had your alloys painted black???

Yes mate I did but it already had black nut covers so they went with the wheels when painted, problem is they have discoloured due to the wheel cleaner used

After 4k I’ve lost 3 of the locking wheel nut covers. Need to order some more and maybe put some insulation tape on the inside of them to hug the nuts a bit tighter

These look like a standard VAG part. When I removed the locking wheel nuts on my Skoda I went to the Skoda garage parts counter and bought 4 covers off the shelf. Admittedly they were grey but a perfect colour and fit. I'm also wondering how you can loose them. I've done 35K+ and none have worked loose.

I’ve had some of these fall off my A4 however they’re the same part numbers

B is the old version and E the new one. C is the locking wheel nut as you say.

I bought a full set 4x locking and 16x wheel but covers from Mike who use to run the part request in here. He runs a part page ion Facebook now.

They cost me £27.07 for a set. The new ones went on very tight. Like you my original one were still the new E version.
