Not only do I spend £340 on 2 new tyres, but they found out 1 of my wheels is buckled, one of my black MTM's, my baby's, my sweet little babys!!!

Great!!!! :mad: :keule::(:banghead::faint::crying:

Is it even possible to buckle an alloy? I know it's possible with steel wheels, but I thought alloys just cracked.

Could it have been a manufacturing fault?

Yeah some alloys buckle easily from potholes etc. My old Celica's alloys were particularly vulnerable to buckling.... pain in the backside. Could drive on them ok, but got a load of road noise and some vibration to the steering wheel.

Hope a replacement's not too much mate. Don't even bother trying to get it unbuckled at a specialist, waste of time and money IMO.

19" MTM powder coated black, £400 a wheel!

235/35 so no give in the tyre

I do remember using all the BHP and hitting a pot hole and thinking I had broken the suspension must have been then!

I'm trying to get the council to pay towards a new alloy, after I literally fell into a very deep crevice on a road. It was dark and there were no warning signs which, when you saw the size of the pothole, is madness.

as said, alloys buckle very easy especially when you get lower than a 45 profile tyre. £340 for two tyres??? What type are they?

Conti sport 3 same as rears £178 each including 4 wheel alignment, I thought it was an ok price, also the place sell wheels so knew how to not damage mine when putting the tyres on...

Don't come to Norway if you are afraid for potholes, they are everywhere and can easily buckle any steel or alloy wheel. The road standard here in Norway is rubbish, even Romania has better road than we do.

Gutted for you, as I love my wheels as much as you - Mine have been refurbed already after my wife dragged two along a very deep kerb!!!

The roads aren't great in the UK either. Where I live, even the speed humps have potholes!

Come on, come on, everybody downsize to 17" :)

I'm actually debating this seriously at the moment. Just moved back to malaysia a few weeks ago and the roads seem to be getting worse each time I return.

Not sure if you were aware of this or not Andy but MTM's are known for it. Even though they are manufactured by BBS they are quite a weak wheel design despite their heavy weight.
When i was looking into MTM vs Sportec vs BBS CH i was warned off the MTM's by several distributors because they'd had quite a few buckle recently.

Obviously this info is USELESS to you now!

Hope it's not too expensive to sort out mate.

ah, they 4 wheel alignment will have made the difference. Your latter point is very valid, less that 45 profiles are a bitch to fit as they are so tight.

I love thoes mtm's but Gutted for you mate, hope you get it sorted and dont cost you too much...
