V5 Problem

I was wondering if anyone can help. I have a v5 Golf and on a cold start when I set off the engine doesn't seem to pick up smoothly. In fact it is very jerky and then within a second or two it kicks in fine and it will be fine all day long.

Anyone suffered similar problems / knows what the issue could be?
