Hi I have A3 2009 1.9tdi sport and I had the RNS-E unit fitted Iv been playing the 2015 sat nav cd for a while now so I decided to update it so In went the 2017 cd and it said loading for all of 5 seconds so I'm not sure if the maps have updated it all looks the same to me and seen on YouTube it normally has a % on it and also the person I got the cd off said it would take 15mins but it took less.

I'm pretty sure there is no firmware flash update between 2015 and 2017 for these units.
The maps are stored on the disk not copied to the unit, so there is no need for a long operation.
You won't notice any difference just slightly updated maps.
