Thought these pics deserved their own thread for discussion

Don't like that Red S3 at all - looks like someone has done it for a joke! Also, why spend all that money on the car and not choose the Tech Pack?! Guess that gives him a small screen to go with his small..... sense of taste ;)

You get the idea that money is no object with this owner as he has a new r8 and rs6 aswell ..... I think he has done it literally just because he can and it stands out from the crowd.

I own a boring black on black a3 8v s line....... And on my way to Bath from Nottingham on Saturday I seen far too many a3/s3 8v's in black or blue on route. Nice to see something different.

Love the Vegas yellow & the Java green, ideal for us bewildered drivers in our seventies. :uhm: Makes it easy to spot in the car park when we forget where we left them. :racer:

You do make some good points there.

I didn't get the tech pack purely from point of view my car is for weekend fun and I just won't do the mileage to get the full use out of it. So waste of money, but it's a personal thing. I'll be handing mine back / trading it in at end of agreement so that probably won't factor in massively. I got burnt a few years ago on my MINC JCW - had the full tech pack etc but only got £300 extra come trade in and all in it was like £1,500 added on list price.

I know two people who are lucky enough to own a Ferrarri 458 and a Nissan GTR. Both use Tom Toms where they OEM nav's are just total rubbish......sometimes spending big £££ on the car doesn't mean the tech on it is any good.

I totally agree, I for one would not pay extra for tech pack and to be honest the wifes basic tomtom (according to her) is better than any OE satnav all over Europe (she has had a number of OE satnavs across a number of manufacturers). Standard OE satnav is a con and the majority of cars with it used to be fleet cars and a lot of companies are now excluding them from standard company cars and giving employees cash to buy a 3rd parties. Car manufacturers don't have to work as hard as garmin/Tomtom as they will still sell cars without satnav whereas satnav companies need to offer a better product to survive.

How can Audi's £450 sat nav be better than a specialists? Regarding resale my opinion is that the less complex electronics on a second hand car the better once it gets to say 5yrs+ as getting any problems fixed will be too expensive in relation to the value of the car.

p.s. I hate satnavs and don't use them even crossing Europe so might be biased, nothing wrong with a map and a sense of adventure :)

Ease of use and integration is a deciding factor for many people.
