Has any one found a way or can you code a standard sound system not to turn it self down when turned up full. For the 2 seconds Its on full it's not distorting but it turns it self down a little. And there's just no kick in it. Does my head in
No way to turn this off via vag ? When it comes in at full they still not distorted or popping. It seems s bit odd.The system has a protection to stop its speakers blown and stop it from distorting. If you want some kick you can retrofit an *** sub and center speaker.
Even if you have standard system, on full volume it’s much too load to be able to listen to in the car. If your’s is as quiet as you say, then I think it must have a fault. It's not loud at all. Quietest sound system I ever had in a car.
Each to their own I suppose, I believe what the OP is saying is that like on most car systems, the more you crank up the volume the louder it gets but on the Audi System as you turn it up it will reduce the volume towards the max volume to protect the speakersI'm so confused. So you're saying you have the volume set to max?? I think I have it on 30 max which is like half? And that's more than enough. In my last car which had the standard system it was the same.
I didn know that it would be do ****. Its was used car so you cant really spec better sound system. Most sound systems these days are decent. Ford,vx,Renault. Audi hot to be the worse. The standard system I had on a recent loaner was nowhere near as good as the standard system that I had on my 2003 8V, all about Audi cost cutting? Most buyers will just have the wireless on in the background, don't care and won't notice. Can you expect the standard system to be fantastic when Audi offer *** or B&O as upgrades? - you want better you pay more.
If sound was so important to you, why did you buy a car with a lowest spec system?
Thanks for pointing out my typo. Glass houses and all that.I didn know that it would be do ****. Its was used car so you cant really spec better sound system. Most sound systems these days are decent. Ford,vx,Renault. Audi hot to be the worse.
And you cant get a 2003 8v. 2013?
No seen a few complain about it. Of you like.loud music and used to it then you know what's quiet. I train 5 days a week with expensive headphones bouncing my head off. It's a quiet system. Schizophonoc pic knows where I coming from.
It's dreadfull compared to other cars standard systems. Prob I would say the worse. My insignia had.much better base that didn't fade away.
My previous motor was an Insignia (65 reg) and got rid 6 weeks ago for the Audi and i have to say the B&O in the Audi is far far superior to the speakers in the Insignia. I had a VX-Line Nav model which came with the 7 inch screen / sat nav unit as standard but the speakers were terrible in comparison to the Audi so IMO if you think they are better than the B&O in the Audi then there's either something wrong with the system in the Audi or you had the BOSE upgrade in the Insignia.
For what it's worth i don't think the B&O is fantastic, yes it's better than the insignia set up however i was expecting more punch from the B&O setup, i seem to recall that the BOSE setup in my previous 8P Sportback Audi was much punchier than the B&O that's in my 8V saloon.
Having said all the above if you don't have the B&O in your Audi and you have the basic 'Audi sound system' then that is still worlds apart from the insignia sound quaility (again unless you has the Bose upgrade), i know this as I've had all three setups to compare them against.
