silly question - Avant tailgate courtesy light

i.e. the one that's inside the tailgate itself, half white and half red.

Mines just decided to fall out everytime I open the boot, so at the moment its stuck in with black gaffer tape - embarrassing.

how can I get it to stay in? is there a bracket or clip for it that I'm missing? do they break easily? I cant for the life of me see how it should push back in and stay in! Grrrr

I assume you mean the actual red / clear lens, which is an "L" section? Haynes mentions "carefully prising the lens from the panel" which suggests there must be some clips. Mine fell off last year - I reattached it with a few drops of superglue.

Yeah that's the one, maybe I prised it a bit too harshly, super glue it is then for a while... better than gaffer tape in any case!

I know who was responsible for mine coming loose - and it wasn't me! Anyway - that's what happens when the boot gets slammed. I reckoned a few drops of s/glue would allow for some "careful prising" as and when I need to replace the bulb.
