Hi all,

I’ve just bought some hubs off a breaker to go on my A3. I’m able to rattle the hubs on the knuckle... is this normal? They’re not on the car and don’t have driveshafts in them.

Just wondering whether I’ll need to get some bearings

TIA,

Dan

once the driveshafts are in they should tighten up, but since its second hand and yout dont know the history of the hubs just do the wheel bearings, since theyre quite cheap to be honest.

If i were you however i would just swap over the rotors, dust covers and caliper carriers and use your existing hub and calipers since they're exactly the same.

Reason for swapping is that my car is an A3 so I’ve bought a full S3 front end setup (quickrack, hubs, arms, subframe)

I think I’ll change the bearings for piece of mind!

Oh and i will be swapping the carriers over, is there much need to also swap the hubs from my current to the s3 knuckle?

Use all the S3 stuff... A3 stuff (lower ball joint etc) is different

Anyone know where to buy brand new S3 hubs? Except Audi dealer.

Cant find any there... been on quite a lot sites but not finding any :O

If you look under bearings there’s rear ones, but can’t see front...
Try looking for an A3 front hub?

Oh I was wrong, I was thinking of the wheel bearing housing not the hub :O
