s3 1.8t 20v into VW Golf MK3 injector issues

Hi all,

I have installed a 1.8t s3 AMK into a mk3 Golf.

Using the standard 1.8t ECU with the immobilizer deactivated and the SAI/N80 and N249 removed.

The injectors are not firing. It cranks, checked voltage and depending on when you test (just turned ignition on etc) they have voltage of 3.5v.

The injectors and fuel spray (direct from a battery) and all good. Unable to check the oscillation of the negative which fires them.

The plugs have spark.

any ideas?
