Rough Starting Noise

2002 S3 BAM
Whenever I start the car when the engine is turning over it sounds almost like a diesel engine starting, it doesn't struggle to start just doesn't sound right.
Once started its absolutely fine and runs/sounds perfect.
Any idea what could cause this? No fault codes or anything.
Car is on 140k.

Need to hear it mate... not enough info to be specific...

Odd noises like this could be lack of oil pressure, air leaks, coil packs, weak fuel pump etc... need something else to be able to understand whats going on really

Could be cam chain tensioner

It's not a rattle or anything, it's hard to describe. As if it's turning over too slowly.

Starter motor.

Dry starter, remove it and give a good spray with some brake cleaner, whilst working it in and out.
