Hi all,

I have had my Audi A5 Black Edition for around 7 months now and I love it.
But I have realised there aren't many places to use the full power of the engine due to the speed limits etc.

As I do a lot of M1 motorway driving, I was thinking about getting a re-map to help the fuel economy.
Has anyone that has had it done noticed better fuel economy after?

So do you think it is worth getting done and if so can anyone suggest anywhere?
I'm based in Bedford, but happy to travel if it's not too far and it's well recommended.

Thanks in advance!

You can gain 15 to 20% MPG with a stage 1 remap or just go for a economy map.
I am a sponsor on ASN and do mobile remapping but i live in Sussex .

Wow, thats quite a saving. What sort of cost would that be? for a stage 1 or economy map?

Sorry to butt in but with mobile remaps how do you know for certain that the map is definitely giving the increased claim?
What if the car is not running at peak to begin with?

Mobile or not - the car should be data logged.
I would say datalogging on the road is more important than a dyno.
I've had cars on the road that run perfectly fine, but on the dyno they suffer from EGT fuel correction.
Off course that means it shows less power than what it really has on the road.

Cheers

Stage one definitely worth it
From 213hp initial run standard car , got up to 269hp after remap and 430 nm torque
fuel consumption also went down by 15 per cent
A different car to drive

Is remapping a bad idea if your engine / all it's stock components have run up nearly 150k miles though?

@FurtiveSway
Mine has done 130,000 Kms , no problem .
If the initial dyno run shows figures near to manufactures ones , then engine is OK
to remap . If power is way down from new , then probably it's not recommended
