Question about phone charging/audi phone box

Hi,

I'm soon to buy an S line 2.0 TDI and I've got a question regarding phone charging. I'm basically wondering whether to get the audi phone box or not. If I do get it I can charge via usb when my phone is in the box. If I don't get it, where do I plug my phone in to charge? If I can plug my phone in to charge in a nice place and I can connect to the car to get text messages, music on the dash via bluetooth it seems that the phone box is totally unnecessary, except for signal boosting - does that even really do anything?

AFAIK any functions that can be provided by the phone adaptor can also be done via Bluetooth, apart from charging. For that you could just use the 12v socket of course.

Thanks. I went ahead and ordered it anyway. Still not really sure whether I need it but what the hell.
