hi there

what mechanical differences are there pre and post face lift on an S4? i know what the cosmetic ones are and im not really interested in those

if i get a pre face lift car, what am i missing out on hardware wise?

Dont think they are any different, the only difference i can see is the early ones might have rubber bushed track rod ends but the facelift ones will have one piece track rod ends and maybe stiffer suspenssion.

the later S4 came with [ESP] traction control button

just incase you havent seen this for other info in buying

GOOD LUCK IN YOUR HUNT!

The pre-facelift S4's had exhaust manifolds prone to failure which resulted in shards of metal being fed into the the turbos. The facelift S4's used better manifolds (same as the RS4).

The last run of the S4's (late 2000) used a Hitachi MAF and a modified inlet manifold which got rid of the troublesome F-hose.

Facelift cars had vented rear brake discs as well as better calipers.

Can't think of any other significant mechanical changes.

ah, this one has samco f hoses and throttle body hose

it already has the later manifold.

looking promising...
