Power Steering Noise

I've just noticed today that the power steering on our S3 make a humming / grating noise when it's on full lock in either direction. I know that most cars do this if they are 'hard over' on full lock however ours makes it within about a 1/5 of a turn to full lock plus it's a bit louder than any other car I've owned. Any ideas?

I would ask the dealer but they are closed for new year.

It does the noise when the car is stationary too so I kind of ruled out any rubbing???
