My passenger headlight is all gummy and faded so cleaned the outside which didnt do anything! I think its the inside of the headlight which is faded any solution on how to restore? Its an a3 8p cheers
UV light damages the lenses over time. This produces fine crazing in the lens which appears misty. Polishing can sometimes help with this to restore a satisfactory beam pattern.
The other main cause of misting is of course moisture inside the lamp that can't escape. In this case either excessive moisture is entering the lamp or the breather pipe/hose is crimped/blocked.
as pretty much said above... i reckon theres abit of moisture in there getting into cold weather will make it worse. Had this on a bmw,, i smeared sealent around the headlights seal then used a heat gun (or hair dryer) pointed at the headlight to dry it out. problem solved
