Hello. I am tapping into the Audi community trying to understand why my parking lights behave like my headlights. I was under the impression that the parking lights were LEDs + yellow lights; however, on my car there is no difference between the parking lights and the headlights. When the switch is pulled to activate the fog lights, they only turn on with the switch set to Headlights.

I was planning on rigging the fog lights to turn on with the parking lights, but I have to figure out what is happening first.

Thank you for any information on this. I have a 2012 A3 TDI.

You will probably find they are daylight running lights. Every car manufactured after 2011 had to have them fitted.

But the DRLs are purely the LEDs, and there is no difference between parking lights and headlights.

In other words, I have five working settings: LEDs, Headlights, Headlights + Fog, High beam, and High beam + Fog. I should have six (or seven because the fog lights are supposed to turn on with parking lights).
1. DRLs (LEDs)
2. Parking lights (LEDs + yellow)
3. Parking lights + Fog
4. Headlights
5. Headlights + Fog
6. High beams
7. High beams + Fog

Would you have a diagram of the light switch wiring?
