Ordered... S4 Avant

Wow, I've not seen another one out in the wild yet. That said don't see many A4's full stop.

Not seen a new S4 yet but seen an S5. They really grew on me. Looked great.

Just been reading some old threads and wondered if any of you new owners got a 1litre oil top-up bag in the boot upon collection? Not sure if this is still a thing these days.

No. Worst part is, I had a litre bottle (from my last service in the B8.5) left so I left that in the boot on handover. Haha. I gave 'Audi' something

Well I've just pulled the trigger on a S4 Avant! Cracking deal and great monthlies using CW. Only downside is I can't take delivery until September due to existing lease car. Dealer said it would be between 4 and 6 months wait anyway but they are more than happy to store it. I know it's not ideal but works for me and should have no worries over it coming in time and leaving me with no car! Spec is:

Navarra Blue, Light & Vision, Black leather, 19" v spoke, b&o, fbsw, folding mirrors, memory seats, carbon interior trim, hha.

The long wait begins!!

Anyone on here picking up a 17 plate S4 Avant in Daytona from Swindon? It looks sweet!

I've noticed that a few of the newer S4's with 19" wheels on the Audi approved used site have contis SC6's wonder if this is just a commercial thing or if they are going away from Hankooks!?
My car has now gone into preparation, not sure which tyre I would prefer...not that I get a choice!

Given a choice I'd have gone conti, over the hankooks. But wouldn't be putting either on come replacement time.

So the dealer has just rung.....car is built and on it's way to the port and due with him in 2/3 weeks. He's keen for me to get it earlier than the planned Sept date and sounded a little gutted when I said I needed to stick to that.

Of course I'm now desperate to get it as soon as I can so I've written to the lease company for my current car to see what can be done, and basically, how much will it cost me!! Needs to be a low number otherwise I'm going to have to stick to Sept......fingers crossed I get lucky.

Generally if it is a contract hire you will have to pay half of the remaining monthly payments to return it. Plus any excess mileage if you have gone over your agreed allowance.

Cheers for that! That could be doable - done nowhere near the mileage, just about to hit 10k on a 16k 2 year contract with 3 months left so that's not an issue. It's a salary sacrifice deal though so not sure if that changes anything?

I'm doing precisely that, it clearly states on my agreement the 50% figure I need to have paid to allow me to voluntary terminate. I will pay £100 this week and send them the letter (from legal beagles), the car has less mileage than the full term amount and is in very good condition. Hopefully they will collect it soon and my new car arrives this month.
Your contract should stipulate your rights and along with a figure to VT.

So a totally unexpected phone call from my dealer today.......they are knocking off the amount I need to get out of my lease early from my deposit! And my monthlies will drop by a few quid. What a result!! Looks like I'll be picking the car up w/c 19 June!!!!

@Brasso just wanted to follow-up on this.

I have spec'd my colour scheme identical to yourself, and left off the pano sunroof. Did yours also not have the sunroof, and if so, how have you found it. I figured given our weather in the UK that the sunroof was not essential, especially with a lighter interior

No Sunroof for me - couldn't justify the expense at the time. Still love the car and certainly don't feel I'm missing anything not having the sunroof. If I did change anything might have added the upgraded sound system but to be honest I'm happy with the standard one given I'm mostly listening to the radio these days - my nipper doesn't like the loud music much... yet...

negotiated with wife - and now confirmed this spec

Adaptive sport suspension with damping control
Comfort and sound pack with rear view camera - S4
Dynamic steering
Electric folding door mirrors
Electrically adjustable front seats - driver seat with memory
Extended LED Interior multi coloured light pack - A4/S4
Head up Display
Light and vision pack - S4
Metallic - Navarra blue
Privacy glass with front acoustic glazing
Storage pack - A4/S4 Avant
Towing equipment - swivelling, manual
Sport Differential
Panoramic Sunroof
Rear side airbags

Def out of money now

Well having tried an A4 Avant 3.0 272 for the weekend, I was back in the dealers today dropping it off.

Sat down with the sales guy and ran some numbers, I was expecting massive negative equity in my S3 after only 15 months, but I was pretty close to break even (I had paid for all the options in cash, to keep the monthly pop artificially low) so speced up a 252 petrol, as I wasn't keen on a diesel and like the petrol S3.

Numbers didn't quite work but were pretty close, so the sales guy who is their performance specialist asked if I'd thought about the S4.

I had speced one up so he stuck that in the computer and with a bit of jiggery pokery got to a figure I was happy to pay that was only about £50/month more than the A4, although I suspect i could have squeezed some more out of them on the A4 if I'd pushed harder.

This discount and deal contribution was about 9% overall and the better residuals on the S4 seemed help but I didn't bring the A4 quote home so can't exactly compare.

Needing more space for a dog and a baby and given the fact I hadn't really gelled with my S3 it quickly became a heart over head decision and the paperwork was signed and a new S4 Avant is on the way.

Dealer told me a build week of 44 or 46, which I believe is end November/ Early December but perhaps someone on hear can tell me. I wasn't in too much of a rush for it and would be happy to wait until January

Spec.
S4 Avant Navarra Blue
19" 5-spoke v design alloy wheels,
Rotor Grey seats,
Virtual Cockpit,
Light and Vision Pack
Advanced Key with hands free boot opening,
Door Mirrors electrically folding,
Driver Assistance pack - tour,
Flat bottomed Steering wheel,
Privacy Glass
Quattro with Sports Differential,
Rear View Camera,
Storage Pack
Hill Hold Assist

Now the wait begins...

Thanks, I've done a CarWOW form this evening.

Always end up clicking far too many options and pushing that price up!

Don’t we all, kid in a candy store syndrome
