Hello,

What options have we got when it comes to modifying the exhaust! I’ve already straight piped the back box and resonators and just want more. Does the car just throw a light up or does it put it into limp mode like my previous BMW? I’m assuming warranty will be affected just like a Decat due to it being sensored? What’s everyone else planning or doing currently?

Also what’s the best map for the new vehicles? Was going JB4 but unsure if they’ve got a new map for the Danza engine? (I think that’s it)

thanks in advance!

Be careful playing around with the new model exhaust. The only way you will get back to the old noise of the RS3 is rip out the system and start again. Yes, this means bypassing all the sensors and requiring an individual remap and will definitely lose you warranty on engine and even gearbox. Doing anything that involves bypassing a sensor without a remap to counteract the signals will definitely throw a light, and more, depending on what has been done!

Milltek have some ideas on exhaust modification, so my advice is talk with them.

JB4? They are one of the myriad of off the shelf diy chips for mainstream cars, yes? You are now in an RS3 that has gone beyond the realms of mainstream in its standard form, so I'd stick with those who specialise such as Revo, APR, ABT etc but much better still - and especially if you are modifying the exhaust - MRC (assuming you are in UK) who give individual attention.

Danza engine? You have me there! Never heard of it!

That’s the one! Cheers Banny!

I’ve just booked it in to have everything straight piped other than the Primary Cat and OPF, will post a video on Saturday when done!

I appreciate a custom Map is better however on my M4 Comp the JB4 does well and has been undetectable with warranty same with my old S3! Hence the thought process! Everyone will weight up the options and chose accordingly and it’s all personal.

I’m trying to find out if anyone has got a box for it yet as I know it’s different! I’ve just messaged them so hopefully can update with a reply and would be nice to hear what people know or have experienced!

Really appreciate the replies! Thank you ☺️

It’s known as the DAZA engine.

Re the exhaust on the new GPF cars, save £10k and get a pre GPF low mileage secondhand car. Better sound, better performance.

Pre GPF is DAZA and post GPF is DNWA, I would agree if sound and performance are high on the list get a used one but if like me you like a challenge of getting power out of a car then get a new one

A friend offered me a JB4 for my RS3 but I am not a big fan of them after using it on my M140i. He is called Simon Lee on facebook and his company is bolton mods and will sort you a JB4 if you really want to go down that route

DNWA - Does Not Work Adequately ;)

Fair enough if you like the challenge of getting power out. Although I think most would prefer cars without the GPF.
