This is a topic which has bugged me for some time. Does anyone know the story behind cars with numberplates that begin with such as 'OY, OU, OV' etc? As far as I understand, most of these cars tend to be ex-demos or staff cars. We once bought a Passat with the plate that began with 'OV' and was sold to us with only 110 miles on it despite it being 4 years old. We were told it was a 'surplus' car left at the Milton Keynes test centre, the car gave us nothing but problems. Now I've came across a potential new car but the car plate begins with 'OY' which is somewhat frustrating. I've spoken to the owner and they say they bought it pre-registered with 2500 miles on it from now. Would this bug anyone if they were buying a used car?
I guess what I'm trying to say is, I don't want to buy a lemon again!
