Hi everyone I'm new to this forum so apologies in advance if I'm posting in the wrong area.

I've been dailying my C7 A6 Avant Black edition for 3 years now but recently bought a 2008 A3 Quattro 2.0 TDI as a runabout.

I'm really enjoying it so far but I have a few questions below if anyone can help it'd be greatly appreciated.

1) I'm led to believe the model is an 8P ?

2) I'm also wondering what the exact engine code is for my car? I believe its a 170bhp on but according to the Internet there are many different codes.

3) Is it common for the exhaust to smell quite pungent on a really cold start at first ? Goes away when it's warm but worth asking I guess.

4) Finally, just any common faults or known issues with these models that I can get onto checking right away?

Welcome! Yes it’s an 8P. The engine code should be stamped on the block, at the top edge of the engine (can’t remember which side). Can’t help with the diesel specific questions sorry!
