MMI SOFTWARE UPGRADE?

hi all, I've had my Audi A6 2008 for about 2 years now and was wondering , do I need to update the software? I've never done it and I don't know how old the current software is, Will I gain anything from doing this and how easy is it to do?? My current software is shown in the pic, thanks

The final MMI 2G version was 55.7.0. There were no major change from your version and I don't believe you will see any difference. I think if's not broken then leave as is. There are plenty of threads about upgrading to 55.7.0 and you can get all the SW from the internet, but you can buy the CD's from Audi for around £5. (Some dealers will not sell the CD's) Like all upgrade there is a possibility of breaking things!
