Hello all

Is it possible to update my mmi firmware by myself at home, is there any website where I can download a file or do I need some with a vag partnership?

It’s possible but the risk of bricking your mmi, £1k+ for new, is very high. In my opinion not worth it. @DJAlix, main dealers and other vag specialists can do it and are insured if something goes wrong. There’s also so many variant and options like with b&o parking camera etc so installing the wrong one can be high.
Is there something wrong with your MMI and that’s why you are looking for an update?
I always go by if it ain’t broke then don’t fix it. Like any software, they fix one thing and break something else.

Ah okie maybe I won’t try. There’s nothing proper wrong yet but notices the radio loses connection in area it hasn’t in the past

That could be your shark fin aerial that’s beginning to die. I had one die on my a6 and radio and gps was working on and off. Replaced under warranty and the service guy said something about the seal went and let in moisture and eventually corroded the aerial from the inside. me blasting it with the pressure washer probably played a part in it.
