i noticed we rate audi dealerships, could we start rating insurers?

The only reason i ask is it would be good to see who offers good renewal prices, customer service etc, coming up for renewal i am looking around and pretty disapointed that Admiral are upto £120 cheaper than Chris Knott or Adrian Flux with mods declared!

This will be a pointless exercise as quotes are offered to individuals. What's not competitive for you will be competitive for the next person. All you'll end up with a is a contradictory list of posts.

However, if SERVICE rather than price is the measurement then yes that would show consistency.

Renewal price doesn't have to be a specific price though, it could be, my renewal with X was reduced by X amount. It would be good to see who consistently offers low prices and who offers low prices after you have told them someone else has a lower price than you initial offer.

My pet hate is being given a renewal price/initial price of X, then it getting halved when you mention that another company on a comparison website has given you a price of X that is cheaper. Its highlighting companies that do (and don't) do that that would be good.

All could be on a star rating, but price is important and if an insurer constantly gives a high renewal price, then halves it when you phone to cancel, in my opinion that is bad service as they are not offering you there best price they are just waiting for you to find out other quotes then negligibly undercutting.

Our special club scheme does just that. We quote you the best we're aware of but we'll respond if you find something out there that's cheaper. Brokers don't have access to every single insurer's rates so sometimes you'll find something that we can't see. It works if you avoid the hassle of having to move and get the price anyway.

Yep, would just be good to see every angle i think, especially from those that have ever had to claim as it shows what companies are like when they are actually needed.

Yeah it works, from my point of view, it surprised me that an insurer on a comparison site was so much lower than any specialist I have yet to get a quote from was. Especially given that said insurer is on every comparison site on the planet, I also get agitated that an insurer will offer a cheaper price if you ring up instead of doing an online quote, especially when the information provided is the same.
