I have a 2009 A4 Avant quattro with a the IHI turbo starting to show signs of bearing wear. Probably due to the early piston ring issue that was ignored by 2 previous owners and eventually rectified at 43k. The car has now done 90k and still in good condition.

It's had an AMD stage 1 remap (220-270bhp) and an induction kit. Also has arb kit and Bilsteins so it goes quite well. I unblocked the front grille when the car was remapped to maximize breathing. The induction kit and grille mod has meant the engine runs quite cold. However, at temp the gains from 4500 - 6500 rpm are huge...it just keeps going.

Funds will be tight for the year ahead. So I was wondering if I'd get away with just replacing the OE IHI with a hybrid. Hopefully, I'd get a downpipe and remap later on when I'm a little more flush. The current map is progressive.
