Hi everyone.
I have recently installed a new head unit in my a3 8p, and I get a really annoying humming sound coming through the speakers now.
It only hums when the lights are turned on, side lights and then full lights, doesn't matter if its only on side lights though.
This makes it seriously annoying when I have the music turned really low whilst talking to people but need to have at least the side lights on whilst driving.
I've read alot online about it being a grounding issue, and that after market head units pull more current and the amp isn't protected against this so makes a noise. However, I've tried everything I can think of to ground it and doesn't make a difference.
What's baffling is that it's only happening when I switch the lights on.
Oh and an odd feature... If I press the brakes, the humming reduces lol
