How to guide? Removing the MMI.

After the failed firmware update, it looks like I'm going to need to take the MMI unit out and post it off for repairs.

Does anybody have a guide on how to remove the unit please?

May have answered it myself...

I just need to see if I can get a tool to substitute for a "T40207" to get the aircon controls out the way... (like a metal tent peg?)...

any ordinary plastic trim removal tool does the job, or you can specifically order the VW tool from any VAG dealer if you wish.

nah.... tent peg to hook the lower section open.... took some gentle easing it back and forth where it felt VERY solidly stuck, but then just eased out.

After that it was a single 8mm socket to undo the center bolt and half a dozen wires colour coded clips (aerial, and bus, etc) on the back of the unit to liberate it.

Boxing it up now for Monday postage.
