Found out I have oil leak from the Timing chain cover, my car is A3 8p 2.0TSI
Timing chain was replaced at 88k now im at 110k, apparently, the previous owner didn't replace the timing chain cover gasket and it was sealed back with silicon.
The thing is, how dangerous it is to keep driving with this leaking?
it doesn't really leak on the road, but it does seem to be a pretty big leak.
im asking because right now there's a law case against VAG EA888 timing chain tensioner fault in my country, hopefully, it will get settled in a few months, with that I could get a free replacement of the timing chain with cover, tensioner, and chain, without it, fixing this leak here would cost around 450$
do you think I can drag this leak a few months? or it might do damage to the engine?
