How do you remove the roof strips.......... I have a little corrosion starting and the car is booked in for it to be sorted at a good body shop, but they are asking for assistance in how to remove the roof strips.... ?????

Any help greatly appreciated

See strip that I'm referring too in the pic attached.

Paintwork looks really bad in this picture, this was the day after I bought the car. Since then I've given the whole of the paintwork a clay bar treatment, Polish & wax and it looks superb now, but as the roof is getting re-sprayed when they sort the corrosion in the roof strips I'm not too bothered getting the paintwork on the roof perfect.

Just need to let them know how to get the strips out to check the corrosion is fully removed. HELP HELP HELP.

I think you have yo pry and pull it mate. Might be worth getting a price for a new one from audi before you attempt it

Roof now sorted, paid for a specialist body company "Mission Bodyshop" located in Gosport Hampshire to sort the roof out and also do the front bumper (Stone Chips) and now she's immaculate again.

I can't praise the body shop enough, %100 paint match and top quality. They took the time to remove every part prior to spraying rather than just masking up. If your after a body work, you won't go wrong using them. Also in the workshop with mine was a total restoration of an Escort Cosworth, a 6 month Old AMG Mercedes and a Sapphire Cosworth...... Everyone working their is a real petrol head.

Here's a few pics of where we are now.......... Still a few bits to be done, exhaust system to be replaced with something a little more in keeping with the 4.2 V8 and that'll be about it. Engine is still rattle free, so I intend to keep it that way with a few modifications.

Well - They totally removed any signs of corrosion in the roof runners, re-sprayed the whole roof, front bumper, front wings and boot. The front bumper was removed from the car, all items (Spots, Parking Sensors, grills removed and sprayed separately then re assembled. And you just can't tell they're not the original paint.
