I accidentally hit the curb pretty hard. When reaching a stop the instrument cluster shows the hill hold assist icon with a message “Manual control” and the auto hold feature doesn’t work anymore.

Any idea what could this be?

I would get it checked out. I slipped on a bit of oil/diesel and went into a kerb at less than 15mph and it caused about £3-4K of damage.
2 wheels/tyres and some suspension bits.
You could have broke a sensor or activated some crash damage system.

Thank you,
I’ll get it checked tomorrow and update.

Have you got vcds or obd code scanner and see what error it’s coming up?

Unfortunately no. Google search also has no results regarding this error...

Might be worth investing in something like carista for around £15. Useful for other cars to code read and stuff.
