Hi all, decided to upgrade to heated mirrors. Prising the standard unheated ones off, I was relieved to find i have the two wires required. Plug in and put it all back together, but don't appear to be working when the rear window demister is switched on. They feel cold to the touch and i put water on them but no sign of them drying up.

Is it because they need coding to work?:ermm:

I think they may also only work under a certain temperature too.

Yes, this is true. You'll need to park your car in a freezer overnight to test. :icon_thumright:

No coding needed.

The mirrors only turn on when the ambient is less than 12 degrees C.

Cheers folks. Just for info the mirrors were £20 a side from ebay with combined postage I thought that was a good deal, they look identical to OE, i let you know how they perform.
